The EuroGOOS international conference takes place every three years. The conference provides a forum for a broad range of implementers and users of operational oceanography services, including marine scientists and technologists, private companies, and policymakers.
The conference reviews the present ocean monitoring and forecasting capacities and oceanographic services, and identifies new science and technology priorities. It facilitates dialogue, experience sharing and future planning with both European and international partners and stakeholders, towards a more coordinated response to global challenges and societal needs related to seas and oceans.
Key topics
This year a broad range of stakeholders in the operational oceanography field will be welcomed, from marine scientists and technologists to private companies and policymakers to discuss these topics and more:
- Exploiting new trends and innovations in ocean observing technologies for improved oceanographic services;
- Building a sustained and fit-for-purpose European Ocean Observing System;
- Supporting the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and the European Green Deal;
- Improving knowledge and information on ocean health and climate services;
- Creating synergies between European ocean observing networks and initiatives, and integrating marine data and knowledge for societal benefits.
