Interoperability among technological platforms and transition to seamless data sharing are key elements for the digital transformation of the supply chain. And ports are key nodes of this transition.  Indeed the improvement in traffic flows requires the players to face complex and multi-dimensional problems in a much more connected environment than before.

“Real-time” visibility and high-quality data – provided by innovative A.I. and IoT applications – can be shared between actors in and beyond the port: the planning of Customs Operations, Port Automations, and Maintenance can be efficient and reliable with concrete positive impacts on security, environment, and efficiency.

The session will begin with a special focus on the CEF Funded project SMART-C – Scalo Marotti viRtual Corridor – in which the interoperability among platforms allows to process A.I. enabled data, creating a virtual tunnel for the secure transfer of the cargo in compliance with Customs duties and enlarging the physical port domain; then a panel discussion among significant use cases in
Europe, based on IoT and A.I. technologies, will deepen the innovation-driven added value models for port node operations.
