Sixth International Symposium of Genomics in Aquaculture GIA2020 | 2-4 September | Granada

02 September 2020 - 04 September 2020

Granada

The 21st century can already be considered the century of Genomics. The development of new techniques of massive sequencing, the storage capacity and data analysis through new bioinformatic tools, as well as the great information available, have facilitated access to genomic studies to a large number of researchers. Also, in recent years new approaches have appeared in this discipline such as epigenomics, metagenomics or gene editing, which have opened new horizons in this field.

Simultaneously, the aquaculture sector has also had great advances such as the development of new culturing techniques, the improvement in nutrition or the application of tools for the control and prevention of diseases. All this has allowed the farming of new species that until recently had not been considered available.

Following the line marked in previous meetings, the sixth symposium of Genomics in Aquaculture (GIA2020) aims to be a platform to transmit these advances in Genomics as well as its application in Aquaculture.

The organizing and scientific committees are pleased to announce that the celebration of GIA2020 will be held in Granada (Spain) from 22 to 24 April, 2020.
