The webinar “Impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Ports and Maritime Transport in the Mediterranean Region”, jointly organized by the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean and the MEDports Association, will be held on 27 May 2020, from 10:00 to 13:00.

The meeting will bring together representatives from port authorities of the Mediterranean basin, shipping lines and other maritime-related transport companies, along with sectoral international and regional organisations, the European Commission, national transport administrations, the private sector and academia.

The webinar is aimed at:

  • Reflecting on the impacts of the current global pandemic on maritime transport and port connectivity in the Mediterranean region;
  • Sharing best practices on the remedial actions already taken;
  • Taking stock of lessons learned and future preparedness needed;
  • Developing recommendations that could be incorporated into the next edition of the UfM transport action plan.

The webinar will take place via Zoom online platform. Instructions on how to join the platform, together with the videoconferencing procedures, will follow shortly.

Simultaneous interpretation service for English and French will be available during the meeting.
