Soutien de l’ONUDI pour le développement de l’aquaculture durable en Tunisie dans le cadre de la composante Économie Bleue de SwitchMed

Le 10 mars, l’Organisation des Nations unies pour le développement industriel (ONUDI) a lancé un projet visant à appliquer des pratiques de production plus efficaces en termes de ressources et plus circulaires au sein de la chaîne de valeur de l’aquaculture en Tunisie lors d’un événement en ligne.

L’événement a permis de consulter des représentants du gouvernement tunisien, de la délégation de l’Union européenne et de 25 entreprises de l’industrie aquacole tunisienne sur la feuille de route du projet.

Au cours de l’année 2021, la première phase du projet se concentrera sur une analyse approfondie de la chaîne de valeur de l’industrie aquacole tunisienne afin d’identifier les domaines d’amélioration, tels que les opportunités de valorisation des sous-produits, le potentiel d’application des technologies SMART éco-innovantes et les synergies industrielles dans le secteur aquacole.

The event consulted with representatives from the Government of Tunisia, the European Union’s Delegation, and 25 companies from Tunisia’s aquaculture industry on the project roadmap.

Scheduled for 2021, the first phase of the project will undertake a value chain analysis of the Tunisian aquafarming industry to identify improvement areas, such as opportunities for the valorization of by-products, the potential of applying eco-innovative SMART technologies and industrial synergies in the aquafarming sector.

Join Malta’s WestMED National Event 2020

The Malta National Hub and National Coordinator for the WestMED Initiative in collaboration with Horizon Europe Oceans Mission and Malta Council for Science and Technology are organising a virtual National Event on the recovery and resilience of the national blue economy on the 4th of September.

The event aims to bring together national stakeholders from the various sectors of the blue economy to discuss common risks and joint opportunities across sectors, especially in the context of strengthening interlinkages between operators, the importance of digitalisation and the identification of national needs to be supported through national and EU funding.

Local experts from the public, private and academic sectors will be delivering presentations and running workshop sessions to discuss:

  • The WestMed Initiative and the Assistance Mechanism
  • The Horizon Europe Oceans Mission Area
  • EU funding opportunities for the blue economy sectors
  • Common opportunities for blue economy operators to build resilience – with a focus on the interlinkages between sectorial operators and digitalisation of the sector.

All stakeholders from the national marine and maritime sectors are invited to participate in the event, with the aim of bringing together policymakers, business operators, researchers and academics.

The European Commission has launched on 13 September the Blue Invest Platform which aims to support investment readiness and access to finance for early-stage businesses, SMEs and scale-ups in the blue economy.

BlueInvest Readiness Assistance

An exclusive coaching programme for high potential start-ups and SMEs with innovative and sustainable products and solutions for the Blue Economy.

Businesses and projects selected for the Readiness Lab will receive coaching packages tailored specifically to their readiness levels and business objectives. The programme is impact-driven, with a clear focus on providing business support to help startups and SMEs build capacities for growth and attract investment.
